Well, I now have my package and FedEx have a piece of my mind, which many would state I could ill afford to lose.
For reasons that no-one can adequately explain, they ignored the address on the package and delivered it elsewhere. Initially they led me to believe that it had gone to a central delivery point for our Department, and I know that stuff used to end up in Ashdown House. So I went there, despite the last of us quit the building three weeks ago. Anyway, it wasn’t there.
It was at this point that Fed Ex announced their master stroke. They had delivered to number 80 Victoria Street. Now Ashdown House is number 123 and our building is on Bressenden Place , not Victoria Street.
It turns out that number 80 Victoria Street is more of a concept than a location. Number 80 Victoria Street is on Buckingham Palace Road…
In the meantime, I get back to the office to find that the system is back up and running. I typed out an email to
ellefurtle and hit send just as the message popped up on my screen that the system was down again, though I still have internets.
As I am typing this, we have just been told that all power to IT will be turned off at 4.30 for maintenance.
I am operating under a fekking curse…
