Monday, January 3rd, 2005 12:20 pmSome of you may know that a friend of mine does sculpting as a hobby. Those who went to the Grand back in er... 1997 may remember the X-Files Erlenmeyer Flask Severus was using as a familiar; that was an example of his work.
I have just received these pictures of his latest work in progress (it's taken a year of weekends and evenings so far, and it's still not finished!), and thought people might like to see them. Once it's finished he will be selling casts for painting - including versions with glass eyes so that they will look very lifelike when painted in flesh tones.
I doubt I need to tell you who the bust is of, particularly given the title of this entry, and the reference material posted on the wall behind the bust...

I understand that there will be a new strand of hair on her left, to balance that already there, and then there's more work to be done on the nostrils. Thereafter, skin texture will be added and once finished, a resin cast taken. At which point a whole new wad of work opens up; but I think this looks rather promising.
