All quiet on the western front

After a relatively quiet week’s commuting on account of half term, the Tube was unaccountably rammed this morning, which is even stranger considering that once off it, crowd levels were down outside the system. People seem to be enjoying riding the underground for no obvious reason today, bless them.

The office is quiet, too. It is always a bit strange when it is like this, but being Friday, it suits me down to the ground.

Having carefully folded the relevant part of the paper under my keyboard, I am now in a position to do some surreptitious sudoku while working.

It helps me concentrate, okay?

Our journey was also bad today after the calmness of half term; but much as it's influence is pernicious I can't imagine that J11 on the M4 affected your journey on the Tube!

There is the annual Who Do You Think You Are Live! show at Olympia this weekend, starting today so the FH researchers who have spent the winter in front of their puters are crawling out into the light.
They blink a little and then as the steely determination sweeps over them they head for Olympia safe in the knowledge that the BBC and Ancestry will produce their tree in ten minutes flat. They knows it cos they seen it on the telly programme.
