I bought this as a double LP when I was 17 and although it was a compilation, it was one of my all-time favourites.

It is a great regret to me that it was simply deleted when CDs came along (although I believe it was available for a short time on tape cassette).

If I wanted to, I could recreate the album myself from other sources, but without the gatefold sleeve and accompanying booklet. It wouldn't be the same.

I regret too, having got rid of the LP along with the bulk of my vinyl.

I didn't.

...and I don't have a record player; it would be rather silly to splurge dosh on it.

Wouldn't it?

How easy was it to copy?

I tried doing that a few years ago by putting the Amp through the sound card and it seemed to work fine, then about 18 albums in I realised one of the leads had unplugged slightly and there was a hiss that didn't need to be there because of it. I couldn't face starting again from scratch so left it. When I saw USB decks I wondered if that might be the solution to easily copying them. We have enough old stuff that we'd like to be able to listen to and make compilations from, but not quite enough to buy again on CD (assuming it's even possible for all of them).

Those available on Amazon are "Cirkus" which has the same subtitle; but a different selection of choons. There's some on eBay for varying prices, depending upon whether it's the original Islands pressing, or the later Polydor version...

"it would be rather silly to splurge dosh on it."

Well, everything else in your house is essential so... :-)

If it's not silly money, buy it and get it copied on to a medium you can listen to it on, bet you won't regret it.
