Civilisation

The futon sofas have arrived. I have just spent the last half hour putting them together, which was comparatively simple, and disposing of the packaging, which wasn't.

We now have comfy chairs for six botties, so next week's gaming session should be a more civilized affair than it has been since Adam sans LJ moved out, and took his Chesterfields with him.

The arrival of the futons now means that we have decent, if not necessarily entirely private, crash space for seven bodies before we need to look at clearing floor space for sleeping bags. Given that next week is DT sans LJ's birthday, I suspect that this new facility will be almost immediately useful.

Ohhhhhhhhh I really need to see a picture of your futon's!! What kind did you buy?? Wood frame or metal frame?? I'm planning on buying one for my room, I'm currently sleeping on a twin bed so I have room for my love seat because my bed room doubles as my living room. I thought I'd go ahead and buy a real good wood frame futon so I could have a full size bed to sleep on at night and a couch for living space during the day. I've slept on my aunt's futon and it is one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on. I'm getting a real good tax return again this year and I still have 800.00 left over from last year so I thought I would blow that and save this years return.

My biggest worry is having to assemble it by myself. Do you think you could fly here and help me??? *giggle* Just kidding.

Well I bought two mail order so I can actually show yoyu what it looks like direct from the catalogue.

Since the carpet is blue, I went for this one. It has a pine frame and a denim mattress.

The only assembly was to bolt the two small legs on the front, and the base to the back. Everything was provided and predrilled, so it was just a case of pushing the bolts through and tightening up the wing nuts by hand. Turn it over and fold the mattress on top. Voilà! One futon sofa. It's not too heavy either; I reckon you could assemble it no problem.

And very comfy they are, too, not to mention cheap £136.99 works out at about $250, I think. And sales tax is lower in the US, so you can probably buy it for even less than that.

I came, I saw, I sat down

I have sat upon one of the futons in sofa mode and pronounce it to be comfortable, although in truth I pronounce it fu-ton just like everyone else.

Of course, they're not trained properly yet.
