Cripes.

At the end, right at the very end, and despite the bodycount, I swear I felt sorry for the Dalek.

And what a compliment to the Doctor, "You would make a good Dalek".

Edited: To fully cement my nerd qualifications, I have just created a new TARDIS icon. Heh.
Further Edit: Apparently the fact that the icon is animated is lost on some people. Particularly those with IE. Get a proper browser, people!

Yes, it was quite a fascinating episode! I think we haven't seen the last of them this season either ;)

Oh I'm watching it now (video tape)... we are at the point where they think the Dalek has killed Rose. :-)

I felt it was a little unsatisfying. Humanising Daleks - whatever next...

it just seemed...unnessaray... and robbed the Dalek of the scenery eating it could have been doing as the Last of it's Race out for Revenge on the Doctor.

Deceit

I'm convinced the entire thing was deceit on the dalek's part.

It played on Rose's emotions to get her to free it. It was playing on everybody's emotions to let it "destroy" itself. That wasn't an annihilating explosion; it was a time/space shift made to look like one.

It's possible, but if it was i don't think it was explained to the audience enough - especially to the kids who don't know Daleks that well... A few 'eye stalk to camera' asides of 'I'm Evil, me' would have helped

"You would make a good Dalek".
I just looked at D and said "touche".
The pathos!
The similarity of them both being the last of their race and still fighting.
It took Rose and the Dalek to bring The Doctor out of his red rage.

Fucking brilliant episode.

I wasn't too keen on the 'Dalek gets Emotions' angle, but I was impressed they let it have such a bodycount, and not just 'bad people' or faceless troops but the normal people too - it's a Dalek, it Kills People.
