Sleepless in Sarf London

caddymanAs I feared, my fractal, fractured and random weekend sleeping pattern has caught up with me and I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at (currently) 1.10am with no sign of the Sandman nor any of his accomplices.
It has given me the opportunity, however, to listen to one of my favourite albums: Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp.
I really don't know how you would classify the music. To me it feels like being trapped in the soundtrack of a '60s spy movie set in a north European Winter (Of course, the snowscape and trees on the inside sleeve contribute to that). This film, which never existed, should have starred Julie Christie and Alan Bate, with perhaps David Hemmings in a strong support role.
The track, Lovely Head is aetherial, whilst Utopia is.
Fabulous and atmospheric; soaring and dramatic.
But I'm still not sleepy.
