Some picayune and wingedy beastie has bitten my left hand just below the knuckle on the index finger. It itcheth most mightily and I am sore distressed by it. Anthisan works while it is daubed on the spot, but as soon as it washes of, or just rubs off, the itch returns. Right now, it is suitably daubed, and the itch recedeth...

Not a bad night, over all. I attended the book launch, and had a couple of pints. I have obtained one copy of each book, duly signed by the author in a crab-like hand that reads as though he has signed them 'Mrs Bradley'.* I understand that there is enough material to create a third volume, and if these sell, I expect he will launch into that project post-haste.

If anyone is even remotely interested, a synopsis of "Remembrance" is here, and "British War Memorials" is here.

Remembrance British War Memorials

More generally, perspiring aspiring authors out there may like to know that Authors Online offer a publishing service which may or may not be of interest. I confess that I haven't read the terms and conditions, but then I am not currently looking to be published.

Self publishing is a bit of a thorny one; it doesn't have the anti-kudos of vanity publishing and it has a respectable history (William Blake never did anything else) but it requires initial financial outlay from the writer; more, it usually requires the author to deal with distribution and promotion etc. Better for those who are confident salesmen!
