If anyone has a desperate need to contact me out of office hours, it’s probably best not to rely on email for the time being – use my mobile instead. The Athenaeum Club’s intarweb access died again this morning while I was actually checking said email. Yet another call has been logged to technical support, and I think they’ve pretty much given up and blamed it on BT. Downtime is happening more frequently and for longer periods. It is to weep.

Oh well, come the revolution and all that.

Other than repeating myself over this gripe, I seem to have run out of things to say. Maybe later then, LJ land.

Oh, by the way. In answer to the unspoken question, several days late and just to make up space: On the side of the bomb Captain Jack was sitting on. Stencilled in German: Schlechte Wolf

Switch to Pipex... it really is the way forwards...

And might get me some referral points! :0)

might not cure it if it really is the BT line though.

True. However, I've always found pipex to be very good at sorting problems even when they are caused by BT. I guess that Pipex have some decent leverage to make BT respond quickly (when we had problems with the ADSL in Finchley, which were caused by BT, Pipex arranged us a BT engineer on the same day).

Dunno if that's still the case tho, as my ADSL hasn't had any problems for ages.

We're on Pipex as you know and we were just upgraded to 1Meg by BT and since then we've had intemrittent service. We have a fault report opened with BT who say it is within their network (small mercy). Didn't you say you suddenly had 1meg speed and then the connection went dodgy?

I did, but I may have been mistaken. I think it may just be the LAN bit here that operates at 1 meg.
