Guess the movie.

It's quite remarkable. Quite, quite remarkable.

I'd never watched the movie, never having liked the "author" of the book it was based upon, or the cult he spawned. I was also aware of the movie's reputation, so this too helped decide me against watching the movie these many years.

But tonight, on ITV, it was broadcast, and having nothing better to do, I decided to watch it in the hope that it might be so bad that it had actually clocked, à la Plan 9 From Outer Space, or indeed anything by Ed Wood, and become a kitsch Sci-Fi classic.

How wrong I was. It is just horrible...

The trouble with free commercial channels is that there is nothing to demand back from them in righteous indignation. An hour was enough; I wasted my money, though it was free.

It's wretched. I went to bed before midnight.

What is possibly sadder, is that I saw the film in question a few years back when it was on Sky Movies.....arrghhhhh

Having already got the impression that it was bad in a bad way from its many critics, I didn't deem it worthy of anything but an odd flick over in the advert break of Nip/Tuck, and I think it's fair to say it wasn't even worthy of that. Stinky.

What was it, what was it? I was watching Van Damme get shot at by Arabs in 'Legionnaire' on Ch 5.

Yes, I watched that, too. Harmless fun. No, the horror was on ITV1 at 11pm, after Jean-Claude's little outing.

Think huge box office flop, lead actor's pet project, and layers of alien make up. Think author who has been more prolific dead than alive.

Are we talking Danny Zuko's effort here or the one that was on later which I missed?

Who is Danny Zuko? I couldn't find him on imdb...

But no, I was on about Mr Travolta's Folly. Awful film - if you missed it, good for you, I say.

Saw a bit of it. It was so bad that I turned over to Men Behaving Badly. When the threat of Martin Clunes' arse is still not enough to keep you watching then it must be poor.
