I find that I am incredibly pleased today, despite having come in to the office to find a whole heap of work awaiting me, and having a deadline slashed from Friday to 3pm today. One of their noble lordships woke up long enough to ask HM Government five inconsequential, but involved questions and muggins here got the job of drafting the answers.

I’m not much of a republican, but times like this bring out the hankering for a bit of barricade action. Trouble is, some dweeb would ask the questions anyway, so getting all het up over some dusty old codger in a threadbare ermine gown seems just a tad pointless.

Anyway, concentrate, man.

Yes, I am incredibly pleased. I have just made contact by deduction and stealth with an old friend of mine, whom I have not seen for many, many moons. I am so cheered by this that I am not even shocked to discover myself listening to Cyndi Lauper on my Walkman, despite not realising that I’d dropped any MP3s of her music on to it. Actually, Time After Time isn’t a bad track…

That reminds me, I must add my Siouxie and the Banshees disks to the mix. I found them a couple of days back; it is yonks since I listened to them, and in this case, one yonk is a very large, positive integer.

Yes, you'd be surprised, Lord Coelacanth, what a steaming 10 mins of unhealthy Googling will unearth, including many photos of drunkards in strange costumes (including someone covered in silver paint) cavorting about what looks like a mansion. It all looks a bit dodgy to me. Well, you evidently Googled me in San Bdno too, so what the hecky thump...

Cyndi Lauper and Siouxsie Sioux? It seems that you are stuck in an early/mid-80's time warp today. As for myself, the TARDIS often leaves me stranded on Chicago's South Side, somewhere in the fifties, and some mornings I awaken a decade or two earlier than that, in the middle of the Mississippi Delta's flat alluvial plain. You won't hear me complain, though. If it's a choice between some long-dead black bluesman and some orange-haired overproduced nonentity in a skinny tie and dodgily shiny suit, I'll hang out with Son House every time. How very pink & liberal of me.
Tabbemarovpresottysilter. And that is all of them, I think! Maybe a certain Sidney Screggfebster would know more... I remember all that stuff, but do I remember my parents' birthdays? Hecky no.

This reminds me of a report produced about the cost of answering questions to the House, I believe it ran into the £1,000's every year

Apropos of nothing, I see you are keen on Kevin Ayers. There is a lot of photos and chat about him by someone on this site named guru banana. Check it out. I'd give you the link but hecky if I know how (uhh...).

Good old Siouxsie. She kissed my hand when I saw them live, which was quite the jolly experience for a 19 year old. Ah, the good old days.
