Bleat, bleat

There's another meme1 on the loose again, so it's time to don the oilskin and sou'wester, batten down the hatches, and tie my self to the ship's wheel so I can steer my LJ through the forthcoming barrage of sameness.

Thinking about it, that's probably the wrong metaphor. A meme assault is rather more like a scene from the "Rime of the Ancient Mariner."

Waffle, waffle everywhere, and not a line to read.

Repeated memage doesn't merely kill The Pious Bird of Good Omen, it plucks, guts, stuffs and roasts it, before serving it up à l'orange.

1I'm still unconvinced that 'meme' is the right word, here. But common usage and all that...

Wouldn't a maritime metaphor about being becalmed be more appropriate?

Do you know anything about the Rime of the Ancient Mariner?

Yes thanks ;)

It sits on a self in my studio along with quite of my other 'natty' little poetry books.

But somehow, depite that, the entire second half of the post floated by unheeded... ;-p

I like to think of meme as being rather apropriate, as in its all about ME! me, me, me.
Or them them them as I don't meme often.

I like to think of memes as a cleansing tide that wipes away comfortable old posts and leaves us with a blank slate upon which to write.

Clearly though, that's just bollocks.
