Oh dear, oh dear, oh cor, oh lumme...
Friday, November 18th, 2005 11:07 pmNow I watched West Wing, see; worthy cause though it may be, there's no reason I should watch the dismal entermatainment that is Children in Need on BBC1.
But.
At some point between 9 and 9.30 I knew they were broadcasting a three-minute teaser, linking the previous season of Dr Who with the forthcoming Christmas Special, ahead of the new season in spring 2006. So I taped it.
Well, it started off reasonably enough, recap the regeneration and such, followed by the obligatory bit with Rose not believing her eyes and so on and so forth. Not unexpected. And then, the old chestnut: the regeneration goes wrong, and we are treated to David Tennant bouncing around and giggling like a madman before setting the TARDIS co-ordinates for Earth, Christmas Eve.
As much as I enjoyed the first season, I never quite got used to Christopher Ecclestone's gurning. I really rather hope that Tennant leaves this amphetamine chimp impression behind very quickly.
