RIP Tony Meehan

Since he will pass largely unnoticed, the Shadows having been un-newsworthy for some time now (despite only hanging up their guitars about 18 months ago), I thought that I would just mention that drummer Tony Meehan, founder member of the Shadows has died.

Edit: Well, the Beeb took notice around lunchtime.

I used to love The Shadows. Being in an instrumental guitar band (although a little more uptodate and less surf than Hank and crew), they were kind of instrumental (haha) in helping us get ideas. BUT I've grown to loath them with the amount of milk-bottle-lensed in-bred backward 60 year olds that I have to deal with wanting "One 'uf 'dem 'Ank Willamthhh Burnthhhs Geeetars".

They are the bain of my existance.
