Having just watched Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars on Channel 5, I have to say that I am really none the wiser as to why the programme was considered so favourably by so many.

It was passable escapist Sci-Fi entertainment, but no better than most and not as good as some. Admittedly I didn't invest five years of my life tracking the progress of the muppet crew, so some of the nuances might have been lost on me.

Still, it's watched now and the names of the characters are already fading from memory.

Where was the odd bald blue woman? We had the monochrome Toyah, but not baldy blue.

I missed most of it, having to keep flipping between that and Sky3 for something? and Hex.
Who was the extra pink wumun on Moya?

I think the series had more Thingy that the film.
And it did do tie-ing up ends, much like Serenity

Must get HD recorder with freeview, although the end of Farscape was just a mess of pixels by the end, as the weather decided to steal my transmited electrickery

If you haven't seen the four previous series then I can see how Peacekeeper Wars would seem unremarkable. Having watched the unfolding tale from beginning to end, I loved it.

Still and all, you like blue cheese and mushrooms, so there is clearly something seriously deficient in your taste.

Should I watch it?

I really enjoyed the early episodes of Farscape but I felt it went downhill after Zan (the blue woman) died. I didn't really like the bloke with the glowing face in a mask or the irritating screechy woman (Jewel?)
Should I watch The Peacekeeper Wars if it gets shown again or not bother?

Watching Peacekeeper Wars without having watched the preceeding 4 series is a bad idea. As has been mentioned, it's a full series-worth of plot shoehorned into a mini-series. The makers don't bother with any catch-up plot at all, if you're not up to speed you'll get lost.

Oh, am I four series behind? The last episode I watched was where they defeated the people on that big battle cruiser with that guy who had been in Crichton's head. I didn't realise they had made four series after that one.

I loved Farscape the series and the Mini series, but then I watched all of the series so it fitted in context with the preceding stories.

As has been said earlier The Peacekeeper Wars was important to resolve the cliff hanger ending of the series where we saw John and Aeryn Sun reduced to ashes !

...and was the first time than fan pressure forced a studio to reinstate a cancelled show if only to tie up loose ends.

But The Peacekeeper Wars didn't perform well as a stand alone piece - the since one of Farescape's real assets was it's dysfunctional characters and immense back history that most of them possessed, Peacekeeper Wars was always going to struggle as a one off mini series.

I wish that Firefly would return - I love the series (I haven't seen Serenity because I was out of the country and am trying very hard to avoid spoilers)

...as for the puppets and special effects....I loved them.
Ms Black was easy on the eye too.
