Too cool to bake, too hot to shake

Gad.
It's just too damned hot today. I've looked in the atlas and the UK is supposed to be in the 'temperate zone' not the bleeding tropics.
Of course, being stuck in a city like London during this weather is proof that Hell is in fact on earth. I need to live somewhere rural, somewhere within a couple of hours drive of the sea. And by sea, I mean something that doesn't look like an open cess pool, unlike the Thames at low tide.
It's cooler now, but the days I enjoy this sort of weather are too phew for me to look forward to them. Bring on the Ice Age. Still, another week and it's mid Summer day. The nights will start drawing in after that. All I need to do is survive July and August.
And what did I do with the cooler temperatures of early evening?
I ironed a shirt for the morrow.
Bloody marvellous.
