Fantastic.

Twenty quid has just bought me a wireless mouse and keyboard, which together make the lappie so much more accessible for everyday use. I think that once I get the PC up and running again, I shall transfer these to that - the old keyboard is rather smeggy after all the years' use it's given me and the tracker ball needs cleaning every ten minutes or so.

A full keyboard is far, far more comfortable for typing than the keyboard on the lappie itself, which of course, is designed for travel.

This keyboard has a whole wad of extra buttons too, both for media applications and for web browsing. I wonder if these are available on most new keyboards and I have just been missing out, using the ancient gunge-covered thing on my desk?

One thing hasn't changed, though. My typing is still rubbish.

Save the old keyboard, small children should be exposed to it for building up their immune systems!

You could be looking at a severe, retributory tickling, Miss Furtle...

I want! Along with a large cash injection.

Where from and I'll put it on my wish list? :-)

I just wandered into Curry's Digital as all the old Dixon's shops have been rebranded and there it was on the shelf. The make is Advent, serial ADE-WD1 according the the box.

Those extra buttons are on our home PC keyboard, too. We're much too old to start on stuff like that, and never use any of them. Occasionally, [livejournal.com profile] callmemadam presses the Mute button by mistake, and then complains that Radio 2 doesn't work, whereupon I am called to provide technical support. So I'm not a great fan.

Having the wireless nature, however, is great, especially the mouse. Well worth its inordinate consumption of batteries.

I know what you mean. I look at all these odd extra keys and they give me the fear. I've already backed up a couple of webpages instead of backspacing a couple of times.

Imagine how I laughed.
