Tonight I think I shall take the opportunity to catch up on season 3 of House in Miss Furtle's absence. Not that she doesn't like House you understand, but she only saw the odd episode from season 2 and we have only just started watching the DVDs. It will be some weeks before she is ready for season 3 and I will be quite happy to watch them again.

Of course, I could just watch them on my lappie; romney dropped several episodes onto a disk in .avi format, but I doubt colonel_maxim will forgive me if he doesn't get to see them too, so I have to copy the files to my lappie and then burn a disc in VCD format for the telly. Hopefully that won't take too long (famous last words).

Thank God for bit torrents and such like, say I. Terrestrial TV seems to have forgotten how to broadcast anything of merit most of the time. This is hardly news, but right now the choice is even more limited if one doesn't like soaps &c.

I have some of this Studio 60 to watch, too. Written by Aaron Sorkin, the creator and initial writer of The West Wing. I hear good things about it.

I was undecided about Studio 60 when I first posted about it. Have now seen 4 (I think) episodes and, if nothing else, the writing is quite as sharp as one might expect. I still say it's not the West Wing, but it may be better than I expected.

Yep. I remember reading in a weekly music 'paper, during the punk era in the seventies, that "a listenable song by (band shall remain nameless) is as rare as a watchable programme on ITV."

Stacey says Hugh Laurie is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend. We never watch it (it's on too late and is about as funny as surgery, so she will tape the thing to see him.

Yes indeed. Video cassettes may be ancient technology now, but they have their uses. We don't have Tivo, nor are we likely to in the foreseeable future.

If you enjoy dramas, you might want to check out Brotherhood - currently showing on FX - but I suspect it's available for download somewhere - it looks promising.
