The new torrenting site [livejournal.com profile] rumfuddle put me on to seems to be working very nicely. Maybe not quite as fast for me as he gets stuff (but then his connection is rather faster, too), but much faster than the places I was using before. I managed to set the torrents for House season 3 episode 8 at 9pm and it was all done and finished when I wandered back a couple of hours later.

Last night, we sat and watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest courtesy [livejournal.com profile] bytepilot. [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle enjoyed it a little more than I did, I think, judging by the tears of laughter. We both agreed however, as did [livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim, that it was a good movie but not as strong as the first and probably 40 minutes too long overall. I have a suspicion that it will end up like Back to the Future II: an interesting interlude between the two good films. We'll see.

And poor old Orlando Bloom still can't act.

Sitting next to me on the desk as I type is the annual selection of stinky cheeses for the GASP1 weekend. To be held for the second year running up on the coast not far from Cromer. It is my fate to be going just a few days before my rearranged blood test. I suspect that I dare not ingest anything stronger than water between Monday morning and Wednesday lunchtime to ensure that I don't end up with blood like molasses. I shall be disappearing off home shortly so that I can take the semi-sentient curds with me on the tube without starting a biological warfare scare.

Muh-hah-haaa.

More later, maybe.

I find Davy Jones strangely attractive; and if Bill Nighy doesn't appear as Bill Nighy in the final part I will eat my hat... (surely we will find out about his lost love which I can't help wondering if it may have been Tia Dalma but maybe that's just my wishful thinking)which is woolly so I hope I won't have to; it would be very dry.
I need to get out more!

And of course, you have a thing about being near the sea, do you not?

Felt much the same about PotC. I loved the first one but this one left me distinctly underwhelmed. So many good people in it were woefully underused.

I suppose there's no chance that Orlando Bloom won't actually be in the last one. He's so tiresomely insipid.
