Message Centre

The message centre on LJ is a bit rubbish. I mean, I'll bet half of you don't know it's even there, slowly filling up with messages. Every time someone leaves a comment, a copy ends up there.

Having found out that I had 119 of them accumulated, I decided to empty it as I have read the contents in context alongside the entry to which they belong. In the event I managed to delete only one and that seems to have disappeared from the Journal entry itself.

So ladkyis has lost a comment. Sorry Ann, it wasn't deliberate.

Yeah, don't use those grey buttons on the righthand side unless you want to modify the comment intself. Use the ticky boxes on the left and the buttons on the top bar to delete notifications.

Yes, I'm sure all the effort that went into creating the thing could have been better used to give us something much more yummy. It's superfluous to those of us who have opted for an e-mail notification every time someone comments on one of our entries.

I went in search of my message thingy and it was empty. the writing at the top told me that to activate it I should click on a map pin icon somewhere and that would cause immediate chaos and crash.... no, sorry that's what happens when I touch the puter. the map pin will make comments appear in my message centre. I have decided to leave well alone because it will just be one more thing have to remember.
I forgive you for deleting my worms - this time.

It seems I've been lucky - I've only used it the way that deletes messages, but not the original comments.
