My week off slides to its inevitable conclusion and I am gratified to note that I have received no mail since before Easter.
There was a time when we could look forward -on occasion- to the rattle of envelopes on the hall floor in the hope that the latest turn of a PBM had arrived, along with its attendant opportunities for plotting, guile and connivance. These days though, unless it is around Christmas or birthday time, or there is an anticipated delivery from Amazon or its clones, the daily mail betokens nothing more than additional expenditure as the junk mail, credit card and utility bills pile up.
Nary a squeak of these for Yours Truly for close on 10 days now. That is both some kind of record and a welcome holiday break.
