Word of the day

Much to my surprise, the time passer I set myself on our awayday (LJs passim) seems to be reluctant to die.

Therefore, today's word is THOROUGHFARE.

No two letter words, brand or proper names, please. Foreign words only where they can be demonstrated to have been accepted into English usage (ie a dictionary).

Go. Waste time on this instead of working.

That is all.

Just a challenge; I'll assume no-one is cheating.

That said, if someone says they have over a 1,000 legitimate words, I will want evidence!

I've got 2 so far: fare and thorough

I suspect that there might be at least one more in there.

A few clues...

It would be a shame though if you didn't try and rough on your reputation. You ought to have a go. Give yourself an hour and see how you fare; rather that than slump in a trough of fear for failing in a hard fought encounter. Go forth: rout the enemy; they should be taught thou rate yourself in these matters.

Can you imagine my outrage at discovering that a grafter such as yourself has found a further route to forget the responsibilities of your job? The means by which you gather your reward, with which you maintain your garret.

Ergo I show you your hat and the gate, and wish to hear no mean as you return afoot to your hearth.

With all my other rants plus the odd bit of work, I haven't even made a start yet!

I think I prefer the narrative form to the list form although I am now suffering a bad attack of "varifocal neck" because I forgot to change my specs before I started reading.
