A Freudian Slip?
Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 12:32 pmWe have just had forwarded around the division, and email notifying us that Westminster City Council have decided that Cardinal Place, which has a very high roof over it, but which is otherwise open to the elements, counts as 'enclosed' under the new anti-smoking legislation and therefore it is illegal to smoke there. They have moved the designated smoking area upstairs above the roofing (actually, only a pedant could call it enclosed, but we do like our Jobsworth Fascist-Nannies in this country).
Anyhoo; as one still in the throes of giving up and behaving as a non-smoker, I am not particularly worried about the fact that smokers will all have to slope off a bit further than anticipated. What amused me and prompted the post was the fact that the email was addressed to "meany staff" which I thought pretty much said it all!
