If you are a self-professed geek and you do not have a Flight Control TARDIS you are letting the side down: you should rectify the position post haste.

Once I had detached it from its box and installed the batteries (neither of them mean feats in their own right) and got the lights and sounds working, even a sceptical Furtle was moved to accept that it’s pretty damned cool. All I have to do now is work out precisely where to display it. Considering the size of the Athenaeum Club and the amount of shelving – admittedly book covered shelving - I am remarkably short of space for important stuff like TARDISes.

The rumour mill for season four, which is about to start filming,
Doctor Who bosses are set to sign up Gandhi star Sir Ben Kingsley to play the Daleks' creator Davros.

Sir Ben, 63 - who won an Oscar for his movie role as India's peace-loving spiritual leader - is in final negotiations to play one of the most dangerous baddies in the galaxy.

A source said: "Ben's agent has been in talks for a while now and he's very keen to play the part of Davros. A deal will be signed any day now."

Fans will be delighted that insane half-man, half-machine Davros is returning for the fourth series of the hit BBC1 show, which stars David Tennant as the Timelord.

The alien scientist - who first battled the Doctor in 1975 - is hell-bent on destruction with his army of exterminating Daleks.

Make of that what you will, but following the casting of Derek Jacobi in season three, who knows?

Could be interesting, as long as they don't rewrite things as they did with the Cybermen.

Still, considering how he was in Sexy Beast, Kingsley could do it.

Oh bravo.

Of course it could be that Davros decides to instigate passive resistance...

To be fair, it's only a rumour.

Revelations of the Daleks (Colin Baker) - he's dragged off to Skaros for spanking

Remembers of the Daleks (Sylvester McCoy) - somehow he's conned them and is know Emperor, but escapes when his ship gets blowed up.

I watched both on sunday.

Like any good villain that's not enough to get rid of him. Since then he's been back and been in charge of one set of Daleks while the Emperor was in charge of another set. The Sylvester McCoy Doctor smacked both lots in one go as I recall.

But Davros (by this taime a head ina dalek suit) got away.
