Weekend Preview

Well the weekend is nearly upon us and I for one can’t wait to get out of this place.

I haven’t got much planned for the weekend in my own right as it were: watch the Torchwood season finale tonight and the Doctor Who season premiere tomorrow and that’s about it other than squeezing in DVDs and chores between times.

Of course, I have to have a shave, polish my pate and dig out sore reasonably presentable togs for tomorrow. The dreaded time has come and I am to be assessed and inspected by Clan Furtle, having dodged the bullet courtesy rail engineering and grotty weather over Easter weekend. I am told that Furtle Junior has also shelved other plans so she can take part in the inspection, too.

My plan is to pop along to the pub with Furtle at about midday, stop for lunch and a pint and then clear off as soon as is politely possible. Furtle will probably stay with Furtles Ma and Junior, while they wait for Furtle Pa to finish up with the singing in the cathedral – ostensibly the reason¹ the entireclan is in town.

I’m sure it will all go swimmingly.

i shouldn't worry:

a) they are very nice and

b) Mum will be too busy looking me up and down and sadly noting areas where weight has not been lost!

I am positive that as soon as Mr and Mrs Furtle realise that Miss Furtle has found herself what my american soul sister calls "a Keeper". They will relax and turn back into humans again.
While it is nice to get along with the family of your beloved when the wire is reached the only thing that really matters is how you feel about each other.
