It seems that we are only allowed 1,000 tags on Live Journal, a limit that I have now reached.

I have looked at my tags page amnd most of them are only used once and some have not bneen used at all since I rationalised a bunch of variant texts. It seems that once there, the tags become immortal and cannot be removed. Or can they and it's just not obvious?

Anyone know?

Follow the link here to tags management page where you can delete as you see fit. I reached my own limit a while back and have had to send quite a few screaming into the ether as a result.

Took me ages to find it too, resulting an an unused "jonh reid" tag clogging up my page for ages!

Only yesterday I had to dump a lot of really good ones that had been used only once. I do this every six weeks as I reach my limit that often. Ho hum.
