Progress. Of a sort.

Yesterday I dismantled and repaired a chest of drawers. It's still not 100% right, but I'd say it's over 95%, which is something of an improvement over the state it was in before hand.
Saturday was one of those days that generally seemed to get lost. We woke up somewhat later than intended, without being sure why we were so tired (I had to take another nap late afternoon, too - clearly I am getting old), but we extracted Furtle's iMac box from the cupboard under the stairs and rearranged boxes down there so we could get that which contained the keyboard in too. The upshot is, one smallish box out and a large one in has left us with seemingly more room than we had before. Who says that transcendental physics don't exist?
fen_wolfwhile has hinted that he may take some Batman comics when he and
karen_lilley visit next week, so we may be able to claw back some more space in the spare room. I still have to tackle the question of the action figures, and then there're the games, too. They just never get played any more and on the rare occasions I go to a friend's place to play, they are stocked up with huge numbers of their own for us to get through, so my relatively meagre but space-filling collection is looking strictly time limited.
The problem is that I am something of a hoarder at heart and getting rid of stuff just does not come easy. That said, I really do want to start drawing and painting again. Despite my protestations some three years ago, having acquired a table and proper drawing board,
westernind has been proven right (not that I would ever admit that to her. D'OH!) and I haven't really made any use of the masses of Japanese paint brushes and inks that I bought when I told myself I was going to try manga, and I have had a similar lack of use from the various traditional western style pens, pencils and pastels I still own.
My old art master at school, Jerry Chambers would be so disappointed in me!
We must go and do the shopping shortly. Furtle's new computer is arriving later this afternoon and it wouldn't do to be elsewhere when Glyn arrives!
