...and breathe

Well, I am still at home, though I confess that today I feel a bit of a fraud.

Yesterday I was a snot monster from the lower depths of Hell and tired to boot.I had bouts of shivering and sneezing, interspersed with bouts of sneezing and overheating. The one short period I left the house, I got back feeling as though someone had pulled the plug out and allowed all my energy to simply leak out into the gutter.

As soon as I went to bed last night my nose blocked and although I managed to clear it enough with Lemsips and stuff to breathe, it was still well past 3.00am when I dozed off. This morning, then, I woke long enough to switch the alarm off and was barely aware of Furtle leaving for work. Now, fully rested, I can breathe properly although there is still some congestion. If I had felt like this about 8.30 I should have gone to work. But at 8.30 I hadn't had as much sleep as I have had now...

Oh well. I'll be back in th'office tomorrow, I think. Just as well all told, that we were given a week's extension on the annual determination process...

Right. I think I shall make myself some toast, perhaps and then watch a bunch of episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures that I have torrented but not got around to before now. Children's telly like it used to be and it appeals to my inner 8 year old.

It is a particularly energy draining virus. You feel reasonable until you do something like get dressed and then you feel totally exhausted and fall aslepp for an hour or two. You wake up feeling much better so you clear up the mess and make the bed and...
I did a day of that and then decided that I was neither use nor ornament if I tried to fight it and spent the next two days lying on the settee drinking copious amounts of water and after that I started to feel better for longer.

Silly man you're not completely better (or certainly weren't at start of play today) so you shouldn't be at work. Learn to loaf!

Hope you'll be fine enough to have a restorative on Friday night!

Should be - I'm back in work now, though still not quite 100%
