And so it turns out that the good mood continueth.

This, I think is due in part at least to the discovery that one of my favourite bands, Deaf School, a six piece from Liddypool back in the '70s have released an anthology CD.

They were a fabulous little band, but far from well-known. I was lucky enough to see them play live twice before they split in (I think) 1979. They weren't making any money and there's only so far youthful idealism will take a band. They did reform for a tour in late '80s and released a live CD which was frankly atrocious.

Now they're available again in their prime.

Since they only released three LPs on vinyl, this sole CD represents their entire studio output, but also has their BBC sessions on it. I have been waiting for a Deaf School album on CD ever since the format was invented and now, all these years later, the whole lot is coming out at once.

So, as soon as www.play.com can get me my copy delivered, I shall be in hog heaven. The tapes taken from vinyl are wearing a bit thin, and the vinyl is 155 miles away in Shrewsbury.

Ooo. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.
