Pretty Flowers
Monday, April 20th, 2009 11:37 pmAs I mentioned a couple of days ago, Furtle and I met up on the way home on Thursday so she could show me the flowers in the small park next to Embankment Station. In the 25 years I've been in London, I've never as far as I can recall been in that park before; it's just another of the little gems the city keeps to itself.
I only had my phone with me, so the pictures aren't as good as they could be, but here goes:

Tulip!

Not a flower, but Robert Burns. Apparently while I was fiddling the angles to get this one, a youth of about 15, sitting on the steps below the statue was watching me and pulled something not unlike the Hubble Space Telescope out of his bag. I didn't see him and apparently he gave the look of disappointment that only someone hoping for a comment on his superior technology could display.

Sir Arthur Sullivan and a distressed female admirer...
