IPhone Apps.

Is there an easy, sane way of getting them from one screen to another, so I can group them by category, or am I doomed to struggle with them. I know they can be moved between screens; I’ve done it, but by crackey, it isn’t easy.

Unless there’s a simple method that has so far eluded me.

And I still can’t get anywhere with iTunes and ringtones.

I don't think there's a way apart from the press-them-till-they-wiggle technique, sorry. I got a big shock the first time I did that by accident!

How is Furtle today? Dare I ask?

Yeah, that freaked me out too, the first couple of times it happened by accident!

I have very few grumbles about the iPhone, but the difficulty with switching apps between screens is definitely one of them!

Last seen, Furtle was dozing blissfully, taking advantage of her day off.

3.0 is better than previous versions in that once pressed and moved, the screens carry on moving until you're at the right screen.

Previously, once on a new screen, you had to pause and then 'push' them off the screen in order to get a new screen come up.

May well be at quiz tonight; if so, ask me then both about this and ring tones.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then it's a skill you aquire once you are no longer a novice iphoner!
The easiest way that I've found is for instance if you are trying to move them from screen 1 to screen 2 to move the app to the very left hand side of the screen and then kind of take a running jump! So swipe your finger through the edge screen 1 and it should be on screen 2. I find it an awful lot easier now, but did have an awful lot of trouble when I first got mine!

In fact now it's been shown me, it's so easy, I could slap my forehead! (ouch).

I used to chase the brutes around the screen like wet soap, rarely getting it on to the next screen and then only after much annoyance.

But if you get the apps all 'wobbly' as usual, then drag the app you want to the very edge of the screen, so it's part hidden as it were, after a few seconds it automatically drops off the edge onto the next screen.

Like I said, once you know, it's bang head on table stuff!
