Very minor Who spoiler that may not even be a spoiler...
Saturday, July 11th, 2009 01:21 pmNow here's a thing - probably not news to some, but it's news to me. If anyone had announced it anywhere other than the dark recesses of the internet, I'd missed it.
I had a root around various nooks and crannies of the web last night, to see if there were any hints about the future of Torchwood after the broadcast of Children of Earth, which I enjoyed very much, by the way. Kill your babies indeed. Writers will understand that comment if no one else does. Anyway, what with televised events being what they were, I thought I'd have a quick hunt for clues. Needless to say, a couple hours after the conclusion of season three is hardly the time for news about any potential season four.
I did, however, spot this rather interesting item to do with (I believe) the Dr Who Christmas Special. The next up is The Water of Mars or something similar and is due for airing, I believe, around 14 November. After that there is the Christmas Special and what looks like being a New Year's Day Special at the end of which the Tennant Doctor will regenerate into the Smith Doctor. These last two episodes do not seem to have been named as yet, but seem to be linked, perhaps into a single two-and-a-half hour story.
The interesting bit, or at least potentially interesting bit, is .
It seems that in both the Christmas and New Year Specials, Timothy Dalton will be appearing as an unnamed Time Lord. In some places he is referred to as the Lord Chancellor of the Time Lords. (Whatever happened to Chancellor Flavia?). Whatever, here is an interesting behind the scenes vidcap from filming. Three Time Lords together, eh? And Timothy Dalton in Time Lord regalia somewhat reminiscent of Omega...

Looks interesting!

I bet they all went and hid in the antimatter universe with Omega.
