Shropshire (ii)

caddymanYou, Dear Reader, may wonder at my lack of posts despite having access to the intarwebs here in sunny Wem, in the County of Shropshire.
Well, life here is quiet. Very quiet. It defies even my prodigious powers of exaggeration to report in an interesting manner on events that have me reading and finishing a Margery Allingham Campion mystery, a trip to Tesco's to buy the ingedients for an Aloo Ghobi and Chicken Jalfrezi, between long sessions of getting my fix of junk TV (Most Haunted if you must ask).
Basically, beyond a few minor skirmishes, the family is behaving itself. There is the occasional grumble, the odd whine and, from time t time a snipe. But here have been no digs, prods, arguments or scuffles.
Having read my Campion book, I fancy I shall make headway with and Agatha Christie; I have a choice of two and the winner seems to be ...And Then There Were None.
Betwen times I am pondering whether or not the Catholic Church was correct in abolishing the concept of purgatory. I am not in it and will be returning to the Smoke on Wenesday, so it will not have time to come upon me, but by then I shall be on the edge of quaking, for I have discovered the only house I know where the coffee and tea are both decaffeinated, the milk is entirely skimmed and in which there is no cheese. Yes, you read that aright.
THERE IS NO CHEESE.
I wouldn't mind if the place was a shrine to healthy living, but what it lacks in fat in more than makes up for in carbs. I may have to buy a vegetable tomorrow. If I can get it past the wards over the doors, that is.

In other cheese related news, did you know that Shropshire Blue isn't actually from Shropshire? Started in Inverness, apparently, and was given the name 'Shropshire Blue' for marketing reasons.
Which tells you an awful lot about Inverness.
