Colour Clash

I have just noticed in one of those "how did I miss that before" revelations, that my new shoes don't quite match. They are two different shades of brown.

I am going to have to put in some elbow grease with the cherry blossom to even them out, I fear.

No way! As a result of polish or they came like that?!

Well I only used that clear polish on them as recommended, so they must have been made that way!

I shall just have to use dark polish on the one and clear polish on the other!

I needed a new pair of shoes ages ago, and tried some on and they fitted, only one was lighter than the other because it had been in a sunny window display for a while, and they didn't have any other pairs. I took a discount on them thinking I could polish it out.

I've had these shoes for years, and despite occasional very thorough polishings, the odd one refuses to darken enough to make them even close to being wearable without embarrassment!

Luckily, the colour difference isn't so bad - I've had them a month and only just noticed, though once you do notice you wonder how you ever missed it!

Caddyman has now passed my desk on several occaisions but has been travelling too fast for me to observe his different coloured shoes...

I have to look now. This is All My Fault as I found them in Clarkes in the sale and got them for him. I never noticed, but then, you don't really look at the other one when they bring it out do you? Still, there was a £35 saving on them, maybe that's why! Or like Phil, one had been out ages.

I shall now notice a lot. *hopes for polish success*

The evidence; not so bad at casual glance.

Blimey Clarkes you say ?

These bear a striking similarity to the Adlen 405 pattern boot worn by a certain Archaeologist

Do you regularly take photos of your feet just on the off-chance someone may discuss shoes?

Hardly an afternoon! It was just a surreptitious photoing of my pins with my iPhone.

Can't speak for Paul, however!

They aren't my feet !!!!

I simply did a search on photobucket for "Alden 405"

I can't afford $500 plus for a pair of Alden 405 pattern boots.

But those Clarkes shoes would pass as a poorman's equivalent shoe.

But the Alden 405 is the screen accurate boots worn by Harrison Ford in all four Indiana Jones films.....

A likely story.

you could leave the slightly darker one on the window sill for a day or two and see if that fades the colour a little - just enough to make them match - or did you already think of that?
