All gone quiet

I'm here in Foxton, Cambridgeshire tapping away at my iPhone. I am lounging on the bed with my book but will probably just go to sleep. Fresh air does that to me. Everyone else is already akip.

Two annoyances today - firstly, for the third consecutive time when I've needed a train from King's Cross, the Tube has failed to stop there necessitating annoying switches and swinging back. At least I was prepared this time.

Secondly is the discovery that the entire route between London and Foxton may as well be in furthest Siberia for all the data connection I got on my iPhone whilst trying to stay abreast of the footie. Of course connectivity was restored after the final whistle...

Anyway, I'm here with chums, including the High King of Sweden, who I only see once a year or so and my rapidly growing God Daughter. There will be others along tomorrow for the party and then it's back to The Smoke and Dr Furtle.

Further rambling tomorrow. Nigh night.

Twasn't the areas you were in that gave you iPhone problems, Bryan; once again O2's data network was down for hours...

We have the same problem travelling from Chester->London. It's beautiful unpopulated countryside, and there's occasional 30 second patches of coverage here and there, but you're stuffed if you want to make a call or use a data connection.
