Pissed off

caddymanSo entropy is taking hold of everything around here and by that I mean absolutely everything and it’s not even Friday 13th.
Our email system, which has been intermittent for over a week and ropy for a couple of months before that, packed in entirely just moments after office services announced that they had fixed it. “Please continue to work on shared drives” they advised. At that point all I had access to was a floppy drive (no floppies) and the CD ROM (no CDs). I have a flash memory stick, but that’s mine; the office does not see fit to spend money on them. So, no email, no shared drives, no local drives and then, no intranet or internet.
The building being made of steel and glass means that reception on my iPhone is only just better than intermittent for anything more technical than a text message, so entertaining myself in the interim.
It’s hard to see how anything is being saved when nothing works around here.
Now I have to wander off down Victoria Street, because FedEx have managed to send my package to the wrong building and their courier only works mornings so can’t be sent to fetch it back and redeliver. Sometimes, living and working in a major capital city of one of the world’s top eight economies gets you no further than if you fancied a Starbuck’s on the summit of Everest.
I am working under a fekking curse.
