I dodged the bullet for another week.

The combination of the fun to be had from train replacement service buses and manky, wintry weather (and today the SECOND day of spring) served to put Clan Furtle off any thoughts of visiting the metropolis. That means they are now tentatively scheduled to arrive next Saturday instead, which is coincidentally our second anniversary. Is this an omen?

That meant we got to lie in this morning and evade the weather, before hoofing it down the road for a cooked breakfast.

We have spent much of the rest of the day pottering and snoozing. [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle has played a large amount of Warcraft and gained a number of shinies that she has been after for a long time, and I have made fair progress with my model-making. In the meantime, in the guise of packing, [livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim has turned the living room into a combat area as he sorts out books to store, shift, lend or otherwise dispose of. I imagine that it is also likely to help with his acclimatisation for Kabul, too.

In true spring fashion, the weather has rotated through bright sunshine and clear skies, to low cloud and blizzards (that's English blizzards; if you live in the American Midwest, they ain't quite the same thing) and thence to leaden skies and pouring rain. The temperature being what it is and the wind being a constant factor drying the pavements, if it snows during the night I would rather expect to see a couple of inches lying in the morning. Considering that we have had about twelve flakes across the capital all winter, this is all rather out of place.

More coffee now, I think. I am at a bit of a loose end whilst glue and paint dry before I can dive in and do more.
