I need to find a new hobby.

I have just spent a couple of hours assembling a model that should have taken a half hour at most. Curse fiddly little pieces that don't fit, and fingers like bananas. And unhelpful pictures on the box which lend no clue to the mysteries of assembly.

I had to keep reminding myself I'd forked out £25 or the damned thing would have been punted across the room on several occasions.

That sort of thing makes me mad - I start off full of enthusiasm and care and end up stuck to myself with small pieces rolling under the sofa, shouting and jumping on the sharp bits.
Same with self-assembly furniture.

I remember making Airfix models as a kid; they NEVER turned out like they looked on the box. I had this moon landing one, with The Eagle and I got gluey fingerprints all over the clear plastic bits. Still I always wondered if the "fix" part of "Airfix" referred to the paint... that stuff was heady to say the least.

sewing can be rewarding, and usually survives being punted across the room. Plus, you can wear clothes.
