It has gone 4 am and I am still awake with rodent related insomnia.

The little bastards are refusing to go near the poison and seem to prefer to eat the carpet.

I have just ordered one of those ultrasonic deterrent devices online in the vaguest of hopes that it will actually do the trick. Oh yes, and a bucket of poison, too. I'll have the little gits one way or another.

I'd wondered where my mice had got to.

Ultrasonic thingie doesn't work well, particularly as it needs an uncluttered environment. Mice seem to like to dance to it, or you get deaf mice.

Proper traps are a better solution, but one runs the risk of getting ones big toe caught when stumbling around at 3 am looking for a glass of water.

Glue traps work well, but are cruel, particularly if you don't check them daily. You must also be prepared to deliver the coup de grace to an immobilised rodent.
