Well, that's that...

So, back in the office tomorrow, albeit only for two days before the Easter break.

I can't say that I'm particularly looking forward to it, but it's only two days. Never mind. The doctor has already reminded me to go back and get signed off again if things don't improve.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and get a full night's sleep for once. I haven't been near caffeine since late afternoon, and I'm on this bloody Cadbury's fudge flavoured hot chocolate. By crackey, but it's sweet. I've been cutting it with ordinary hot chocolate, but have now run out of that (and Horlicks) and I forgot to pick some alternatives up today having elected to go to the launderette instead. Instead of the caffeine, I can see that I'm going to suffer from a sugar high, and still fail to doze off. Mind you, it is supposed to be low calorie, so it might be some kind of sweetener which turns to formaldehyde in the gut. Who knows?

Best go and have a shower. And set the alarm.

Lunchtime approaches on the first day back.

I don't feel madly stressed, but I am tired. I took ages to doze off last night, and although I seemed to get some good quality sleep, it wasn't for long enough. I have so far avoided the temptation to advance on the pub, and drink a few pints of muscle relaxant, and see no reason not to continue in that vein (i.e. avoidance).

It really doesn't feel as though I've been away, really. Never does on return from any length of break, does it?

A trawl through the 200+ emails awaiting my attention shows that not a one is from Human Resources in response to my requests for information. I now have to think up an alternative strategy.

I must remember to do some prescription-filling at lunchtime. And pay an overdue credit card bill which I'd completely forgotten. Oh dear.

Additional

Dear God in heaven. I've just been to Boots to get my revised prescription. The doctor doubled the dose of Ramipril. I didn't expect that to double the size of the tablets. These will need a knife and fork...
