Well that was a mistake.

I only got about four hours sleep last night. I was tired but could not doze off - I recall looking at the clock at just after 4am as the rain was pouring down like someone playing a high pressure hose on the roof. Anyway, come time to get up I was still shattered; but apart from tired I didn't feel so bad and certainly wasn't coughing (if it is the pollution/hay fever, then the rain at least has shifted most of that out of the atmosphere, for now at least).

Unfortunately, coughing apart, by mid morning I felt pretty much the same as yesterday, only tired too. So I sit here pouring with sweat despite it being relatively cool. I am not going to work tomorrow; I shall stay hidden and comfy instead, try to catch up on my sleep and hopefully lose whatever ails me.

On the plus side, my copy of Preparing for Emergencies has turned up, so I shall entertain myself for ten minutes reading the government's advice on how to survive a terrorist attack. A little later I shall look on e-bay to see if anyone is selling the old cold war Protect and Survive booklet about lining your house with tin foil; in case of nuclear attack (or something like that). I feel it would make a nice companion piece and provide something to pass on to the kids as an example of ineffectual paranoia-inspired government claptrap.

Going to lie down and shiver a bit, now.

Bye bye.
