Achy breaky

Today is one of those days.

I just feel leaden today and the simple act of walking around makes me feel tired and worn out. I don’t feel ill or depressed or melancholy or anything, it’s just one of those days. I should have liked to stay in bed and get a few more hours sleep.

I think it is a biorhythm thing, if anyone seriously believes in anything so 1980s as biorhythms these days. I felt leaden yesterday afternoon and probably will tomorrow morning, too. Thereafter there will be daily improvements until I am bouncing around like a spring lamb at the weekend for a couple of days. Well, figuratively speaking, anyway. I’d probably do me knees in if I were to bounce around literally. There’s the entire question of equine enstartlement to be considered, too: can’t have that.

Today I shall mainly be wondering why it feels so bloody hot in the office, while it is so bloody cold outside. In any sensible society, they would knock a few degrees from the office and add them to the external temperature. One day, if the comics and science fiction novels are to be believed, it will work like that, for sure.

It keeps trying to snow outside, but while it is very cold (by UK standards), the snow just can’t quite get going, despite a fine attempt at the weekend. There is still the off patch here and there, but mainly it’s just slowly melting. This contrasts quite starkly with the apocalyptic weather predictions in the press, which is continuing to forecast further heavy dumps of snow from Siberia, while the Met Office simply own up to ‘chilly’.

Anyway, that’s enough low-level grumbling for this morning – well, for now at least. I may find other things to grumble about as the day progresses, who knows?

In the meantime, allow me to freak you out slightly with this picture. Just peer at it for a moment or two to see if you can identify what's wrong with it:
