E pur si muove!
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 08:58 amI shan't comment on this, since the story speaks for itself.
However, if you think this is wrong, maybe you should go here and sign the petition.
Feel free to visit the country, but pay for yourself as you spread intolerance.

Date: 2010-02-02 10:16 am (UTC)But that church doesn't have the right to attempt to demonise or discriminate against a group of people outside its own communion. That is against the secular law of this secular state.
If the Catholic Church doesn't wish to have me as a priest that's absolutely fine by me. But it certainly doesn't get to tell my government that giving me equal rights is wrong.
And I am certainly not happy that my dirty, sinful tax money will be used to fund this elderly fanatic's visit to my country to spread this unfair, unlawful and hateful position further.

All religions have visited terrible crimes on societies and their own churches...it's what religions do.
It's why fundimentally faith and religion are two different things. Faith is an empowering thing, religion is a controlling thing.
On this occaision the Pope's just being a bit of a berk.
But I can't be bothered to sign the petition because it'll amount to the square route of Jack...

Date: 2010-02-02 01:05 pm (UTC)The Vatican could sell a gold cup (I’m sure they have a few), of a few items of cutlery and make 10s of £000s and train dozen's of priest rather than depending on the faithful and unquestioning to pay for it ....
I could write to them to point this out, but like a petition, it wouldn't amount to anything…..
