Claim to fame
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 11:28 amIt is a long time since I have been able to add to my relatively few claims to fame and without exception they are all examples of meeting a CELEB at a signing or colliding with them in the street, or something equally poor. In fact, I have to go back a fair number of years since my last celebrity sighting. Since the 80s, when I clearly haunted the right streets, they have become few and far between.
Today, however, I can polish off another space on the mental mantelpiece and add another faded celebrity. Well dressed and dapper, obviously as a result of wise investments made in his few years of fame (and according to Wikipedia, the fact that he still works in the Biz and is CEO of British Music Rights), I shared a tube carriage with ex-Undertone Feargal Sharkey.
The years have been good to the bloke and he looks better now than he did at the height of his fame:

Could the man look more Irish?
The Undertones' Teenage Kicks was, by all accounts, the late John Peel's favourite song.
