Greedy b*st*rds

Ah well, it looks as though those RMT bastards will be going on strike and from 7pm tonight there will be no Tube for 48 hours - by which I mean effectively from this evening there will be no usable system until Saturday, because of the deliberate off-set in the strike hours.

I haven't worked out yet how I am going to get into work for the next three days - the buses will be packed and the roads congested. I guess I shall have to walk up to Oakleigh Park and get the overland into King's Cross station, but that still leaves me pretty much at the diagonal opposite of the West End with an hour's walk down to Victoria. Maybe I can sort it so I work from home, but I doubt it.

I don't have problems with people standing up for themselves in the work place, but the Rail Drivers' union are jut greedy bastards; they have us over a barrel and they know it. Train drivers pulling down £35k annually excluding overtime and short working hours plus better than average annual leave? For sitting in a cab and leaning on a dead man's handle? I'm in the wrong line of work.

I plan to invoice the RMT for my wasted time over the next few days - and would should that others do so too. Bob Crowe also has to be made personally liable for any financial cost these strikes. And removed from office in the RMT.

They do seem to be being a bit greedy, especially under current economic conditions.
That said you'd have to pay me sodding tons of cash to drive a train all day.
Strikes me as being horrendously boring, at the same time highly stressful, especially if your train happens to be the one some chav drops a brick on, or some head case decides to end his miserable existence by jumping in front of.

But they are paid more than Police constables who have considerably more stress! It's insane.

Well that's another job that I wouldn't do for love nor money :)

While I don't necessarily disagree with you about the RMT, the tube drivers job is more complex than 'sitting in a cab and leaning on a dead man's handle.'
