Further ramblings of a self-made pauper

You know it’s all going just a little wrong when you attempt to take your glasses off and polish them to get rid of the smears and then realise that you haven’t put them on yet and it’s your own eyes that are smeared.

More coffee, I think.

That is all.

Not earth shattering as such, but I felt they should be noted down for posterity:

1 - Today at work, a mere ten days after I picked up my specs from the optician, I perfected the art of perching them on the end of my nose so I can read and peer meaningfully over them at people more than four feet away. It's events like this that remind me how as kids we took the piss out of people who do that. The Karma Pixies are satisfied.

2 - I have just had one of those jaw-cracker yawns which brings tears to your eyes. For the first time my specs steamed up momentarily. I am now a true wearer of glasses.

See, I said it wasn't earth shattering news.

Bed time, ladies and gentlemen, bed time.

I have come to an accommodation with my new glasses.

They sit on my desk just behind my keyboard, and we glare balefully at each other at regular intervals.

Hello Kiddies, your hero is back in London and regular service is about to be resumed on the LJ front: brace yourselves for a resumption in pointless meanderings and outrageous exaggerations which stop just short of being downright lies¹.
