Moonkin

An online World of Warcraft friend of [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle is in hospital and as Guild Master, she decided to send a card from the online community, wishing their friend a speedy recovery.

This is where the Moonkin comes in. I am told that Druid characters can't heal when they are Moonkin and have to take tree form.

So that's the joke: oh, my aching ribs.

The original was sketched in pencil and then finished with water colour and ink. It is only A5 size so we can trim and fix it to the card. Moonkin are not easy to do quickly, you know: too many feathers. If you click on the picture a couple of times, it will take you through to a bigger version (but not too big).

New Who

First showing of the new Doctor in costume, as seen on the BBC news and Dr Who home page:

Rehearsals

An interesting look whereby from the waist up the Doctor could be from any date between 1920 and about 1965 (moving through country squire, student and jazz aficionado as time moves along). Waist down has more of the 1970s skin head - bovver boy - proto punk about it. Together, the ensemble suggests a late Victorian rambler or cyclist. Quite clever and in some ways a return to the classic Who Edwardian feel without quite being that obvious.

As the Australians hang on into the fifth and final day of the second test, with a whole day to play and (as I type) four wickets in hand, including annoyingly, the seemingly immovable Clarke, Stephen Fry has made the point that his nerves are shot.

I don't think I've ever been more nervous. Either an outrageous world record for the Aussies or the end of 75 years of pain for us. -Stephen Fry on Twitter
